How it went for us
We overlooked the possibility of Harry being too young to play this game. We bought this toy when he was just 4 months old but he wouldn't even attempt to play with it. The problem was he wasn't tall enough to reach his paws up to spin the tubes. Once he got a little bigger, he was able to balance himself while raising a paw to hit the tubes.
It took Harry a little time to figure out what to do to get the treats to tumble out. After several sessions of exposing it to him, he finally started to come around. We had to spin the containers for him, hold his paw up and guide it to the cylinder and spin it, and even lay it on its side and spin the tubes. Then, one day it all clicked and now every time he sees us preparing it, he gets super excited!
